SiHing Michael Bell
At the age of 15, Michael began his martial arts training in Shorin Kempo Karate in Xenia, Ohio.
During that time he competed in the Ohio State Grand National Tournament, where he placed within the Sparring Competition. As a result of moving to Atlanta, he was introduced to Wing Chun under the supervision of Sifu Francis Fong. After that he was hooked.
Even throughout his military career in the U.S. Army, he continued to practice on his own while learning U.S. army combatives and hand-to-hand combat. While stationed at Ft. Campbell, Kentucky, Michael took a course in unarmed defense tactics from the Nashville SWAT Instructor which included police style pressure point and control tactics. In Ft. Bragg, NC, Michael briefly studied Wing Chun under Sifu Bryan Edwards.
After leaving the military and moving to Northern California to work for Ericsson, due to the nature of his travel schedule, he took classes in Northern and Middle California and Phoenix, Arizona to continue training. Michael moved back to the Atlanta area and resumed training under Sifu Fong from whom he now earned a black belt in Wing Chun and red belt in Jun Fan Kung Fu. As an Instructor at Francis Fong Martial Arts Academy, Michael pursues his study of martial arts and expresses his humble ability to share his love by teaching.
